Types of installation
Which system suits you?
We help you choose based on the size of the space, the number of rooms and how you use them.
Wall-mounted split
The common choice for a single room. Relatively quick to install; suits bedrooms, living rooms and home offices.
Ducted (mini-central)
A hidden unit in the ceiling or a bulkhead that distributes air through ducts to several rooms. Quiet and even, but needs planning ahead.
Multi-split
One outdoor unit serving several indoor units. Saves outdoor space when there is no room for multiple condensers.
What the installation includes
What the installation includes
An installation you do once, and do properly
Most recurring faults in new systems start with the installation: drainage without a fall, uninsulated pipework or an outdoor unit in a tight spot. With us every stage is checked before the next one starts.
- Planning where the indoor and outdoor units go
- Clean, tidy drilling and pipe routing
- Insulated refrigerant lines and drainage with the correct fall
- Vacuum and leak testing before commissioning
- Commissioning, a performance check and an explanation of how to use it
Before installation
Four things worth thinking about in advance
The right capacity
Too weak and it will not keep up; too strong and it will short-cycle. Use the capacity calculator.
Outdoor unit position
A ventilated spot that is accessible for servicing. In a shared building, check with the building committee first.
Power point
Higher-capacity units need a suitable power point and breaker.
Noise and neighbours
Positioning the condenser well prevents noise and vibration in bedrooms, yours and your neighbours.

The price depends on the system, on the fault or installation and on the work actually required, so a general price list would be misleading. Contact us with the details and photos, and we will explain what is likely needed.
A standard wall-mounted split usually takes a few hours. Ducted and multi-split systems need more planning and work. The exact time can only be judged after seeing the site: unit positions, pipe runs and the power point.
Yes. Installation is a separate service. It is worth checking the capacity with us before you buy, so you do not end up with a unit that is too weak or too strong for the room.
Decide where the indoor and outdoor units should go, make sure there is a suitable power point, and check whether the building committee needs to approve the condenser position. If you are unsure, the technician will advise on the best placement.
As a rule of thumb a room of about 20 m² needs roughly 1.5 HP, but sun exposure, a top floor and large windows all push that up. Get an initial estimate with our capacity calculator; the final decision is made after an inspection.
